FOUNDER

A Dutch girl, born and raised in South Eastern WI, I love our beautiful Lake Michigan, sparkly white winters, and of course, my endearing midwestern people! (Any Manitowoc Minute fans out there?!) You can catch me cozy on my sofa with a steamy cup of coffee (or bubble tea!!), watching anything Jane Austin, or reading a good book...probably about pregnancy or birth! I love exploring our beautiful earth, teaching piano, watercolor painting, my little bunny (Gilbert), and the obvious one, snuggling babies and supporting mammas! This girl loves people – from living in New York, to Canada, to England, I’ve learned that love is the same. Sisterhood is the same. What we crave is real, meaningful conversation and friendship. Constancy in the storm. And that, Dear Friend, is my gift to you.

I chose to become certified with Doulas of North America (DONA) International because of their rigorous and thorough training. I am equipped to be the empowering, fearless, and caring doula you need me to be for your pregnancy and childbirth.

My VBAC Doula certification comes from The VBAC Link.

My Story

Ladies! We need each other! Doula-ing is my heartbeat and one of the most magical paths I get to walk. It encompasses my love of adventure, sisterhood and sweet babies, born and unborn. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved three things: my Savior, Jesus Christ, finding and creating beauty in unexpected places, and precious children - beautiful souls the Lord asks us to steward. Pregnancy and birth have always been a wonder to me. Part of my calling is to ensure that women never feel alone, especially in pregnancy, labor and birth, and even into motherhood. From conception to natural death, life is a miracle at every stage – worthy of protection, agape love, and celebration. I’m amazed and grateful that I get to be part of the most breathtaking moments. The sweet intimate moments. My heart loves the first cry your baby calls out to you, the soft lines in her hands and feet, the tiny lashes, when her eyes lock with yours for the first time…You are a miracle. Moments matter!

Psalm 139:13-16

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.”
