Client confidentiality
Your privacy is important to me. I promise to honor the sacred information of my clients’ birth experiences.
While I am not a medical care provider, I do gather some personal and health information from my clients so that I am able to fully serve them. At our prenatal visit, my clients sign a Client Confidentiality Release Form. A copy is given to them and I keep the original with me during the labor and birth in case questioned about HIPPA regulations.
To ensure that my clients are given the best care possible in case of an unexpected event that would keep me from attending their birth, I will need to share their information with the backup doula, assuming she is available. My clients’ names/family’s names with personal information is kept in confidence and stored for my personal business records.
